LONGHOUSE

PROJECT

During an internship in an architecture agency, I was able to learn to master the sketchup tool and the use of autocad software. In particular, I was able to participate in the development of the Pouaher project, a project to build a detached house in Forêt Fouesnant, in Brittany.
It was a question of building for a couple whose children entering adulthood were gaining their independence. This is why the house had to be suitable for the use of a family of five but also for the use of the couple only. We therefore decided to build the house in the form of a farmhouse. This allowed both a nod to traditional housing, but also to offer a ground floor accommodating all the necessary functions and therefore allowing the couple to live on one level. On the other hand, thanks to the arrangement of the rooms in a row, it is possible to consider closing access to the south-facing living room in order to restrict the space occupied and thus retain more heat in winter. Finally, it was also a question of respecting the building height constraints imposed by the PLU (local urban plan). This imposed a maximum height on the gutter of 3m 50 from the natural ground. Adding an exterior passageway therefore made it possible to widen the house in order to recover ceiling height upstairs. Thus, my role was to help in the design of the housing plans and the interior layout, as well as its 3D realization from the sketch phase, until the APS phase (Preliminary summary project).
